Gun Bunnies and Work in Progress!

So, it's been a couple months, and admittedly, not much of it has been spent painting. But here's what is done! I'm shooting for "table top" quality for the Gunners and will probably put more detail into Gorten, but at some point I need to learn when to call a model "done" and I'm calling the gun bunnies done.

Gun Bunny #1 AKA "Fore"

Gun Bunny #2 AKA "Aft"

Also, here's my current progress on Gorten. I'm happy with the armor, but still, lots of work needs to be done.

Continuing Warmachine and Hordes

This is going to be a boring "no pictures I painted" post since I forgot to take pictures but wanted to write them up anyways. These are the official Privateer Press paint job photos that I can only aspire to. My newest purchase for my evergrowing Everblight army: Bethayne and Belphagore!

Together they are a very cool pair of models. I hope to upload pictures showing how the beastly Belphagore has two chest pieces that magnetically clip in place to represent when Beth and Bel are joined into one model.

Also, I've decided to build a Rhulic (Dwarf) mercenary force since hey, I love the models, and have purchased Gorten Grundback to lead them.

And also got a Driller and a pair of "Gun Bunnies" to support him.

With any luck, I'll get some assembled pics up soon. Also, I rehosted the Privateer Press photos to not be a jerk and hotlink them, even though this blog gets no traffic.

HORDES Legion of Everblight Battlegroup

So, thanks to the 10 year anniversary sale of Privateer Press, I have dipped my toes back into the Warmachine and now Hordes as well game. Many, many years ago when Privateer Press first got going with Warmachine, I bought the Menoth battlegroup and a couple of warcasters (including Alistair Caine) and I plan on putting up photos of them as soon as I get some better ones taken. But for now I assembled the Legion of Everblight battlegroup!

Here are Lylth and her Shredders on their Dage Age Clear Swampland bases:

The Carnivean is such a great looking model but my god did I have problems putting it together. I ended up having to pin on each leg, the torso, and the head and then had trouble with the feet and using cork to keep the body upright. I need to do ALOT of greenstuffing to fix all the gaps, but here he is in his current state.

Blast from the Past Part 1

Privateer Press's Warmchine line, Cygnar Warcaster Allister Caine. I thought it was one of the coolest models I had ever seen way back in 2004 and it was the first model I felt really proud about painting. Looking back on it now, the eyes are wonky, the metals sub par, and the cloak not well blended. But it was a total pleasure to paint.

Things that were new to me at the time were trying to paint the goatee and using multiple metallics. I still like how his armor turned out and I keep it in my display case as a lesson.
